Insurance Company of the Americas

Effective January 24, 2018, Insurance Company of the Americas (“ICA”) was ordered into receivership for the purposes of liquidation by the Second Judicial Circuit Court in Leon County, Florida.

With the entry of the liquidation order, the Florida Workers’ Compensation Insurance Guaranty Association (“FWCIGA”) has been activated to help pay outstanding claims for workers’ compensation policies. The processing and payment of covered claims will be made by FWCIGA. There is no cap on claims for workers’ compensation benefits. Claims made under the employers’ liability portion of the workers’ compensation policy are limited to the lesser of policy limits or $300,000. Claimants who need to check on the status of an existing claim should submit inquiries to the Florida Receiver at Consumer.Services@myfloridacfo.com or by calling (850) 413-3081 or toll free at 1-800-882-3054.  New Claims should be sent to Rehab.ClaimsServices@myfloridacfo.com.
